HOW TO SPEAK ENGLISH FLUENTLY
One of most
important skills that English learners must master is Speaking skill. Therefore,
being able to speak English fluently absolutely becomes a big desire for all
English learners. Many English learners have spent several years studying
English yet they still have difficulties in speaking English. The common reason
of their failure is that they do not know the real factors which can promote
their speaking skill. According to linguistic experts, there are three basic
factors that can promote someone’s speaking skill; grammar understanding, vocabulary
mastery, and habitual practice.
The
first basic factor that can promote someone’s speaking skill is grammar
understanding. Grammar is a root in a language so everyone who wants to be able
to speak English fluently must understand grammar first. Someone who
understands grammar well will be able to arrange correct sentences in English.
On other hands, someone who does not understand grammar will have difficulties
in arranging correct sentences. However, understanding grammar is the most
important factor for speaking skill.
Another
important factor for being able speaking English fluently is vocabulary
mastery. Vocabulary is the basic material for arranging English sentences. It
is impossible for someone to arrange sentences if he does not know English
vocabularies. Therefore, mastering vocabularies is a must for someone who wants
to be able to speak English fluently.
Furthermore,
everyone who wants to be able to speak English fluently is required to practice
English habitually. Speaking skill is not a knowledge but it is an art that can
be mastered only by habitual practice. Eventhough someone understands grammar
and knows many vocabularies, he will not be able to speak English fluently if
he does not practice it habitually. Hence, habitual practice is a key for
speaking skill.
In
conclusion, to be able to speak English fluently requires someone to have three
basic factors; grammar understanding, vocabulary mastery, and habitual
practice. Therefore, everyone who wants to be able to speak English well should
focus on implementing those factors.
